My partner and I have always wanted to offer open-ended toys made out of
natural materials like wood and wool to our daughters and all children
around us. We believe that in our day and age, with all the stimulation
in the world, children more than ever need open-ended toys that promote
calm and creativity in children. Kids need simplicity and beauty to help
them find their joy and imagination. This is what these toys do ! We believe in fair trade, renewable and organic products and this
is what these products are...you are supporting something positive and
life-giving.
In collaboration with a social organization in my area we had the idea to start producing these quality toys and woodworks to children, big and small, for a fair price for families in North America. We have started this production in february 2018.
We also value using quality lumber, locally sourced in the private forests in the appalachians near Quebec City. This wood is therefore cut and milled locally by people that have in their interest to use this precious resource in a sustainable way. It's also all made of premium/select quality wood with nearly no knots. We also use natural oils to protect the wood. we are currently using danish Oil, which comes from a tree, we also call this tung Oil.
The production of these toys and objects is made in an environment for people needing some extra moral support and guidance. It offers really practical and meaningfull training to the workers in the field of woodworking and textile recycling and transforming. The sales of these items supports this organization.

Ma partenaire et moi-même avons toujours voulu offrir à nos filles et à tous les enfants qui nous entourent des jouets fabriqués à partir de matériaux naturels comme le bois et la laine. En collaboration avec une organisation de ma région, nous avons eu l'idée de commencer à produire des jouets de qualité pour les enfants, petits et grands, à un prix abordable pour les familles nord-américaines. Nous apprécions également l'utilisation de bois d'œuvre de qualité provenant des forêts privées des Appalaches près de Québec. Ce bois est donc coupé et scié localement par des personnes qui ont intérêt à utiliser cette ressource précieuse de manière durable. Il est également fait de bois de qualité premium/select avec presque aucun noeud. Nous utilisons également des huiles naturelles pour protéger le bois.
La production de ces jouets et objets est faite dans un environnement de travail de qualité aux personnes offrant un emploi à des gens ayant besoin d'un soutien moral et de conseils supplémentaires. Il offre une formation vraiment pratique et significative aux travailleurs dans le domaine du travail du bois et du recyclage et de la transformation des textiles. La vente des articles soutient cette organisation.
